Überlingen is situated at the shores of lovely lake Überlingen, actually the upper arm of Lake Constance. You get quite a mediterranean feeling at the long lake-promenade with its many cafés, bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy the view over the lake and the countless yachts and excursion boats.
The historical sights of Überlingen are also inspiring – its splendid middle-class houses, the cobble stone alleys and lovely half-timbered buildings. The town landmark is the late gothic cathedral of St. Nikolaus with a 10 metre high, carved wooden altar.
